iMIT Access & Upload Troubleshooting

iMIT Issues & Troubleshooting Steps

iMIT e-Form & Page Loading Issues:
If e-Forms are not visible or if iMIT pages fail to load, the individual should follow the troubleshooting steps below.

[Step 1] Confirm Correct iMIT Login: Individuals MUST ensure they are logged in using the correct portal based on their status:

  • New/Initial Students: Follow the login instructions provided here.
  • Current Students: Follow the login instructions provided here.
  • Alumni Students: Follow the login instructions provided here.

[Step 2] Verify Browser Settings: Individuals MUST ensure their web browser is functioning correctly:

  • Use a private browsing option (Incognito Mode in Chrome, Private Mode in Safari, or Private Browsing in Firefox).
  • Clear the browser cache and cookies, then close and relaunch the browser.
  • Try accessing iMIT using a different web browser.

[Step 3] Restart the Computer: If issues continue, the individual should restart their computer and repeat Steps 1 and 2.

ATTENTION: If problems persist after completing Steps 1-3, the individual should contact iso-help@mit.edu for further assistance. When contacting the ISO, individuals MUST include their MIT ID number, degree level, and program information [Example: MIT ID 987654321, MS, MechE, ’27].


iMIT Document Upload Troubleshooting:
Individuals experiencing difficulty uploading documents to iMIT should follow the steps below.

[Step 1] Confirm Correct iMIT Login: Individuals MUST ensure they are logged in using the correct portal based on their status:

  • New/Initial Students: Follow the login instructions provided here.
  • Current Students: Follow the login instructions provided here.
  • Alumni Students: Follow the login instructions provided here.

[Step 2] Verify Browser Settings: Individuals MUST ensure their web browser is functioning correctly:

  • Use a private browsing option (Incognito Mode in Chrome, Private Mode in Safari, or Private Browsing in Firefox).

[Step 3] Confirm Document Requirements: Uploaded documents MUST meet all of the following criteria:

  • Accepted file formats: PDF, JPG, GIF, BMP, or PNG.
  • File size MUST be under 2 MB.
  • Files MUST NOT be uploaded directly from any cloud-storage services.
  • File names MUST be correct and NOT contain any special characters (e.g., *, ?, /, &, -, |, >, <).

[Step 4] Restart the Computer: If issues continue, the individual should restart their computer and repeat Steps 1–3.
