ISO, and most MIT offices, CLOSED on Friday, July 3
The ISO, and most MIT offices, will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
The ISO will close for walk-ins beginning at 3:00pm on Thursday, July 2 and will re-open for walk-in office hours at 10:00am on Monday, July 6, 2026.
ISO Staff will continue to monitor the main ISO email account (iso-help@mit.edu) and will check phone messages to the ISO main phoneline (617-253-3795).
If you need to request a new Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 with a new travel signature, instructions on how to make the request in iMIT are available here: https://iso.mit.edu/news/obtaining-travel-signatures-on-form-i-20-form-ds-2019/.
Please be reminded that the ISO has extensive resources online, so we encourage students to review the ISO website (https://iso.mit.edu) for information and guidance, including:
Visas and Travel resources: https://iso.mit.edu/visas-and-travel/
Employment Information: https://iso.mit.edu/employment/
New Student resources: https://iso.mit.edu/getting-started/

If you have an urgent/emergency situation that cannot wait until the office re-opens after the holiday on Monday, July 6, you may call the ISO Emergency Phone Number (617-258-5480). The emergency phone line should especially be used if you are experiencing any travel issues at the U.S. ports-of-entry/U.S. Customs and Border Protection. If you get voicemail, please leave a message with how best to contact you and an ISO Staff member will call you back.
For inquiries that can wait until after the ISO re-opens, please feel free to email your ISO Advisor or contact the ISO during office hours on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Wishing you an enjoyable holiday weekend!
