J-1 On-Campus Employment Authorization Reminder for New and Continuing J-1 Students
All students in J-1 status who wish to work on-campus, or will continue to work on-campus at MIT (including any research assistantship, teaching assistantship, or fellowship with service requirement) need to request J-1 On-Campus Employment authorization annually in iMIT and be issued an updated authorization letter from ISO. Proof of an on-campus job offer is required.
Any J-1 student who will continue at MIT in the Fall, and will be working on-campus, should begin the authorization renewal process now.
Details on J-1 On-Campus Employment authorization is available on the ISO website (https://iso.mit.edu/employment/on-campus-employment/j-1-on-campus-work-information/).
If any questions arise, please contact your ISO Advisor.
