USCIS Premium Processing Fees to Increase Effective February 26, 2024

On December 28, 2023, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (USDHS) announced a final rule that will increase the filing fee to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for Premium Processing for certain applications, using Form I-907 Request for Premium Processing, due to inflation. The final rule will become effective on applications postmarked, or received via online filing, on or after February 26, 2024.

The Final Rule, and resulting Premium Processing Fee increases, will impact the following applications commonly utilized by international students and scholars who request Premium Processing:

*With (or for Pending) Form I-765 Application for Employment Authorization for F-1 Optional Practical Training or STEM Optional Practical Training Extension: increase from $1,500 to $1,685

*With (or for Pending) Form I-539 Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status (including Change of Status to F-1, F-2, J-1, J-2): increase from $1,750 to $1,965

*With (or for Pending) Form I-129 Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker (including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN petitions): increase from $2,500 to $2,805

*With (or for Pending) Form I-140 Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker: increase from $2,500 to $2,805
