U.S. Visa Guidance for Individuals Affected by Events in Lebanon
On October 28, 2024, the U.S. Department of State published on its website guidance regarding visa processing at U.S. Embassy in Beirut.
In summary, routine nonimmigrant visa processing (including F and J visa types) is not available at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut at this time, but individuals may apply for a nonimmigrant visa at any other U.S. embassy or consulate.
The U.S. Embassy in Beirut has resumed full immigrant visa processing at Embassy Beirut for Lebanese family members of U.S. citizens.
Please note that while applying for new entry visas at a U.S. embassy/consulate in another country is allowed, visa processing time may take longer than normal given application and security review processes, so applicants should plan accordingly.
