Welcome to the International Students Office (ISO) at MIT. The ISO serves all incoming and currently enrolled international students at the Institute. The ISO assists students in maintaining their legal status in the United States, provides support for their dependents, and promotes interaction with and integration into the MIT community at large.

Travel Reminder - Do you need a valid travel signature?
Summer 2018
Students traveling outside the US and returning to continue their program of study at MIT must have a valid travel signature on their Form I-20 (F visa holders) or Form DS-2019 (J visa holder) within 12 months of the planned date of return to the US (within 6 months for travel to Canada, Mexico, and many Caribbean Islands).  Also, check that your entry visa in your passport, issued by the US Embassy/Consulate abroad, will be valid for your return or if you will need to apply for a new visa while abroad.  Please consult our "Entering US Borders" webpage for more details.
