Hit the Books

Hit the Books

It has been one month since the spring semester started. Are you ready to “hit the books”? “Hit the books” is one of the common English idioms that are often used by college students in the United States. It simply means “to study very hard.” It is a way of telling people that you are going to study for sure.

For example, you may say “I have two important exams next week. I really need to hit the books this weekend!”
