Idiom: Bored to Tears

DEFINITION:

Extremely bored to the point of distraction or irritation, that you almost want to cry in frustration. People can also say “bored to death.”

EXAMPLES:

1. “My professor bored us to tears during yesterday’s lecture.”

2. “My computer and phone are both broken, so I don’t have anything to do. I’m bored to tears.” (Note: Maybe some time away from your electronics is a great time to take advantage of the many things MIT and Boston have to offer instead!)
